Electric heat strip module rated at 5 kW (approx. 17,065 BTU/h) when operating at full load.
Designed for installation inside the blower section of an air handler (typically 208/230 V single-phase, 60 Hz) to provide supplemental heating when the heat-pump or refrigerant system cannot meet the load.
Usually supplied as a complete assembly: heating elements (nichrome or equivalent), limit controls (fixed temperature cut-off + auto reset), manual reset thermal cut-offs, wiring harness and mounting brackets. For example, the Lennox “CB” model includes internal circuit breaker as disconnect means.
Compatible with air handlers used in heat-pump systems, packaged units, or split systems where electric back-up or supplemental heat is required. For example, one manufacturer lists a “5 kW Electric Heat Kit for Universal Heat Pump Package Unit” supporting R-454B systems.
